As one of the most recently confirmed members of the Board of Trustees for the Foundation for Women, I am honored to be able to invite you to this nonprofit’s annual luncheon which is TODAY, October 25th, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, at the La Jolla Country Club.
The cost for the luncheon is $75, and as a 501(c)(3) organization, part of this cost is tax deductible!
In brief, the FFW is an organization that focuses on helping women rise out of poverty through micro credits. The 16-year-old foundation has two programs: one in Africa and the other right here in San Diego. The micro loans offered by the FFW, have helped many women to sustain their families with food and shelter by helping them finance their small businesses which range from jewelry making to baking.
Foundation for Women African bracelets are $15 and are 100% handmade.
The Annual Luncheon aims to raise money to help finance these women — to serve them and therefore help them and their surrounding communities flourish.
Among the items offered at today’s luncheon is a wonderful auction item: A week-long stay at the most spectacular villa right on the sea in Puerto Vallarta!! It sleeps 18 and comes with a beyond wonderful chef and concierge!
Our CEO and founder of FFW is Deborah Lindholm and she, along with four other friends, purchased the package last year.
“It is an AMAZING property! Last year, five fabulous women each contributed to FFW and went for five days and four nights (we are still wondering why we did not make plans to stay the entire week!),” Deborah said.
The villa is perfect for an annual family gathering, or perhaps several families can join in and take advantage of this offer.
