The Coronado Flower Show is the largest tented flower show in the nation, and it’s celebrating its 90th anniversary! The Spring Fling is the annual fundraising food and drink festival for the Coronado Floral Association, the institution that organizes the Coronado Flower Show. They are celebrating this momentous occasion with a roaring 20’s theme: Flappers and Flowers. Over 500 guests are expected and between 20-30 local food and drink businesses will be hosting tasting booths. Patrons who pay the $65 flat entrance fee will get two drink vouchers and the opportunity to sample delicacies from over 25 local restaurants.
The Coronado Brewing Company will be donating a beer garden, and Tartine will be hosting three wine bars in partnership with Regal Wine Group. Drinks will be $5 each, with premium wine being sold at slightly higher prices. Some food and beverage vendors will be offering free samples of wine, sake and local craft beer.
To promote the fundraising aspect of this event, there will be several raffle giveaways including a lifestyle package, a wellness package, a children’s package, and a “staycation” package with a stay at the recently renovated boutique hotel Marisol, and dinner at Primavera restaurant.
The festivities will continue at two local island venues hosting after parties: McP’s Irish bar, a casual Coronado institution, and Candelas, a Mexican restaurant with jaw-dropping views of the San Diego skyline. There’s no charge to attend, and both Candelas and McPs will be providing one complimentary drink per person.
This event is for people 21+ and a chance to enjoy America’s Finest City alongside the flower tents, under the stars. It is also a wonderful opportunity for the San Diego community to celebrate the beauty of flowers, our local businesses, and this beautiful Southern Californian island which is also celebrating its 125th birthday this year!
