Since my children were all home for one weekend this summer, I had to capture this family moment. I tried this service to find if it was really as easy, affordable, and professional as the website claims it is.

In a few quick steps, I hired a Tog, scheduled the time and place for our Family Portrait session, and we were set! This is what you do:

First, select the type of job you’d like from the home page; special birthday, anniversary celebration, wedding, engagement, or family portraits — there’s a Tog for any event!

Next, select a package. There are three choices:

1. Mini Shoot $50 includes a 30 minute shoot and 3 digital images

2. Full Shoot $100 (Best Value) is a 60 minute shoot, 10 digital images, and one outfit change.

3. Deluxe Shoot $225 is a 90 minute shoot, 25 digital images, 2 outfit changes, and 1 location change.

Want more photos? Don’t worry, all packages offer an option to purchase additional photos later.

Then, add your zip code to see a list of Togs pop up with those who are nearby. Browse their portfolios, read the reviews, and select a few or let them respond to your request — which is usually within five minutes.

I selected the Full Shoot, and our Tog, Evelyn Molina, because I loved her portfolio. She contacted me right away via email, and we set up our shoot’s date, time, and place. We had never had a professional family photo shoot before, and this one was certainly that: professional! But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself.

Our digital images arrived in my inbox a week later! However, let me warn you that deciding which 10 to get was hard. But for $75 I bought 35 high resolution digital imagines!
