Kids get a lesson at MLB’s Fan Fest
Here’s this year’s lineup of theme days at FanFest.
- Friday, July 8 – Opening Day/Kids Day. Friday highlights include a kids national anthem singer from San Diego Musical Theatre, baseball and softball clinics, kids home run derby, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” singing contest and more. The first 2,000 eligible kids ages 12 and under will receive a Trevor Hoffman Bleacher Creature Jr. plush. Appearances from legends include Trevor Hoffman, Dave Winfield, Steve Garvey, Randy Jones and more.
- Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10 – Military Appreciation Days. MLB All-Star FanFest tickets will be a discounted price of $12 for military personnel. Saturday will include a special clinic and wheelchair baseball exhibition game presented by The Wheelchair Federation, and the first 2,000 eligible fans will receive a Lil’ Teammate toy figurine. Appearances from legends include Rollie Fingers, Gaylord Perry, Steve Finley and more. On Sunday fans can send thank you cards to the troops, attend hitting clinics, T-ball exhibition games, the Youth Academy whiffle ball tournament and more. The first 2,000 eligible fans on Sunday will receive a military patch. Appearances from legends include Gary Sheffield, Gaylord Perry, Heath Bell and more.
- Monday, July 11 – Tribute Day. Monday will pay tribute to heroes including teachers, service men and women, first responders and community leaders. Activities include baseball witness boot camp, CPR training, Mascot Home Run Derby Championship and more. The first 2,000 eligible fans will receive a mini Dave Winfield bobble head. Appearances from legends include Tony Gwynn Jr., Tony Olivia, Ozzie Smith, Andre Dawson, Fred McGriff and more.
- Tuesday, July 12 – Trending Tuesday. Fans are encouraged to use the hashtag #FanFest to share their favorite photos and videos. Activities will include a PONY Shetland league T-ball exhibition game, pick-up games, kids home run derby and more. The first 2,000 eligible fans will receive a reusable tote bag, presented by tokidoki. Appearances from legends include Gaylord Perry, Orlando Cepeda, Rollie Fingers Terry Kennedy and more.
