The community-minded folks at Time Warner Cable would like to let you know that they are running a wonderful campaign called Clothes 4 a Cause, with the specific purpose of collecting business suit donations to assist individuals enrolled in the Alpha Project, an organization dedicated to help end homelessness through job training programs for men and women.
The business suit clothing drive runs from July 1st to the 31st, 2009, and for this entire month you can drop off your donations of either a complete suit or outfit* at any of the 23 San Diego County Mission Federal Credit Union locations or Time Warner Cable’s San Diego, Carlsbad, Clairemont, Del Mar and Coronado offices. Click here for a complete list of TWC and Mission Federal Credit Union locations accepting donations.
Besides getting a tax deductible receipt for your generous donation, for each complete suit or outfit you donate, you'll be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree, courtesy of Mission Federal Credit Union, and other program sponsors.
Let's get that closet cleaned out and organized for a good cause!
*A complete outfit is a matching blazer with pants/skirt or a shirt/blouse coordinated with dress pants; shoes, ties, and accessories are also appreciated, but not required.*
Very good and creative initiative. I for one am working with getting people donating used cars that they would give away for free to the scrap yard. You would be surprised that such a car has quite a nice value selling its used part or just iron that will be recycled. And that money can help a lot of people.
This sure seems like a lot more work, but I can imagine the benefits can be great for the recipients of this altruistic ventrue. Good luck to you!
