This “Monster Trucks” party is inspired by Paramount Pictures’ family film opening Friday, January 13. As you can see, I selected the color theme, mainly blue, from the movie poster.
I added a punch of color with a few accessories, like the small pales for kids to stash their candy in and the sports drinks.
Monster Trucks Party Theme
The treats are the main event at the dessert table. I started by making cupcakes that look like tiny monster trucks. Aren’t they cute?

This is all you need to make these adorable Monster Truck cupcakes:
- Yellow cake mix
- Vanilla frosting
- Oreo mini cookies with the stuff scrapped off
- Toothpick flags
After the cupcakes have cooled, frost them and place four of the Oreo mini cookies as shown and add the flag.

I chose a contrasting color for the sports drinks and added fun straws to make drinking out of the bottles easier.
The movie-related promo items in this post, like the toy trucks and lunch bags, were provided by Paramount Pictures. The Hot Wheels hiding under the basket and the movie-sized candy are party favors I bought for kids to take home.
Most of the items used for this party idea, like the colorful tassel garland and banner, were purchase at Target.

Really good film. Well worth seeing. A young man feeling down because he doesn’t have a truck like others his age is trying to fix up an old truck. When these creatures come up from an oil well, one helps him with his truck and helps him see his dad for what he was and helps his relationships with his stepfather. He shows he has talent fixing up these trucks to help these creatures get back home with the help of a girl that had been trying to get his attention.
