   You’re so right. We do have to remain diligent when it comes to things that seem harmless. My daughter wanted to be a Candy Corn Witch. I thought, “How can Candy Corn be bad?” Then I saw the costume. We came up with a safer, more appropriate home made version.

   I’m with you on this! For the most part, we’ve made our costumes at home, except for the cute (and expensive) Disney princess costume stage. We also made memories in the process!
   When my kids were a little older, I also had one condition for Halloween, that their costumes had to be something scary since this is what this holiday was about. It was great to see how they went from Pokeman and Belle to vampires and zombies.

   You just gave me an idea! Got to write up a post and get a photo of these homemade costumes up (hope I don’t embarras my kids, hehe! ).
