Huntington’s Disease Society of America Gala In San Diego

The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) San Diego chapter’s annual Celebration of Hope Gala takes place Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in downtown San Diego. Last year’s record-breaking event raised $135,000 which coincided with the gala’s tenth anniversary.

Huntington’s Disease, a fatal genetic brain disorder that results in the loss of all mental and physical capabilities, affects thousands of Americans each year but many of their heroic stories go unheard. The HDSA San Diego chapter’s Celebration of Hope Gala honors those living with HD as well as those who are making a difference in the ongoing fight to end HD forever.

HDSA San Diego will also honor Peggy Johnson, Qualcomm executive vice president & president, global market development, for her many contributions to the fight against HD. The Celebration of Hope Gala is one of the nonprofit’s largest fundraising events of the year and brings together hundreds of influential San Diegans to support HDSA’s mission to end one of life’s cruelest illnesses.

The annual evening program will feature insight from leaders in the Huntington’s Disease (HD) community as well as special guests from the NFL, including NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, ESPN’s Chris Berman, the NFL Network’s Rich Eisen and Steve Mariucci, and NFL Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk, Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin.
