The Hollywood trend of retelling children’s fairy tales for adult consumption continues with Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D. Much like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs turned into the grown up version with Snow White and the Huntsman, mature fable-telling is decidedly targeting older audiences.

Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, Bourn Legacy, Avengers) stars as the leather-clad weapon-wielding Hansel, a combo I’m sure will not endear him to children — so it would be best to leave the little tikes at home for this film.
