“San Diego’s 50 Best Moms” annual community contest is in full swing and it is better than ever! New this year, Time Warner Cable established a website where you and your child can get information about the yearly awards and also submit an essay or video online.
As a past 50 Best Moms winner (2006), I have had the distinct honor of participating over the last 10 years as a judge and emcee for this heartwarming event.
Welcome to the 2013 Best Moms Contest, an annual event that provides San Diego, the Coachella Valley, Beaumont, Banning and the Morongo Basin children the opportunity to celebrate the qualities that make their moms special and earn them well-deserved recognition for Mother’s Day. The Best Moms Contest invites students in grades 4 through 12 to submit an essay or short video sharing their stories of what makes their mom a “Best Mom.”
The Time Warner Cable Best Moms Contest welcomes video entries this year, along with essay submissions, in an effort to inspire the development of students’ science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills.
Participating students may write an essay or create a short video describing what makes their mom a “Best Mom”. Judges from Time Warner Cable and community leadership will review all essays and video entries. Up to 25 Desert Cities and 50 San Diego winners will be selected. The winning students, and their families, will be honored at an awards luncheon on Mother’s Day weekend. One student from each school group – elementary, middle and high school – will be selected as a grand prize winner and receive a Sony tablet and $250 school supplies gift card for their teacher
The contest closes this Friday, March 8. But there’s still time for your son or daughter to submit an essay or a video and nominate YOU as a “Best Mom.”
Please visit www.TWCBestMoms.com to read about the rules and follow the instructions for electronic submissions.
I look forward to reading about the wonderful things you do for your family and your community!
