Boost Mobile and Antonio Gates Team Up with Promises2Kids to “Dunk for a Cause”
San Diego residents are invited to join Boost Mobile to Raise Money for San Diego’s Foster Youth Community
“To celebrate Boost Mobile’s commitment to the San Diego community, the company has teamed up with San Diego Chargers All-Pro Tight End Antonio Gates to raise money for Promises2Kids, which supports San Diego’s foster youth community.
With the support of Antonio Gates, each San Diego resident who demos Boost Mobile’s waterproof smartphone, the Kyocera Hydro, will have the chance to “dunk for a cause.” For each time a Boost Mobile representative splashes into the Dunk Tank, Boost Mobile will donate $25 to Promises2Kids, a San Diego nonprofit that annually provides over 3,500 current and former foster youth in San Diego County.
The donation goes towards Promises2Kids’ mission of creating brighter futures for foster children through their unique programs, including Camp Connect, which provides foster children the opportunity to reconnect with their siblings who live a part enhancing the children’s sense of belonging and support.”

Schedule of Events for Thursday, March 21
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- · 11 a.m. – Event opens and Boost Mobile representatives are on hand to provide customers with demos of the Kyocera Hydro. Antonio Gates will be on hand to greet customers and encourage participation in dunk contest.
- · 11:15 a.m. – Dunk contest begins. Every 29th customer to participate in the “dunk for a cause” will each receive a Boost Mobile giveaway (phones, autographed footballs).
- · 12:15 pm – Check presentation to Promises2Kids by Boost Mobile representative and Antonio Gates
- · 1 p.m. – Event ends
