Want to Know What I’m Doing at Comic-Con 2014?

I must admit. I am very excited for Comic-Con 2014 to start. Each year is like a box of chocolates, I never know who I’m going to get to interview or see at an intimate press conference!

For this humble Hollyblogger, Comic-Con just doesn’t disappoint. Being in the same room with talent like Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, John Malkovich, Channing Tatum and Samuel L. Jackson is what the Con is all about. Though this batch of celebrities making the trek down to San Diego may not strike you as the typical geek-leading types, for some celebrities being inducted into the Con by the fandom has become a rite of passage in it’s own right.

20th Century Fox is bringing an army of talent to Comic-Con this year to build buzz for a few upcoming projects.

Kingsman The Secret Service

Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson (an SDCC veteran) will be here to promote Kingsman: The Secret Service

Book of Life

Channing Tatum and Christina Applegate will be talking about The Book of Life, the legend of Manolo. (Did you just recite “My name is Juan” from 22 Jump Street?) “A conflicted hero and dreamer who sets off an epic quest through magical, mythical and wondrous worlds in order to rescue his one true love and save his village.”

Lets Be Cops

Damon Wayans Jr. is in Let’s Be Cops, “the ultimate buddy cop movie except for one thing: they’re not cops.” We’ve seen the trailer. Enough said.

Penguins of Madagascar

DreamWorks Animation has a Con inductee in Benedict Cumberbatch who, along with John Malkovich, will be here as the voice actors for Agent Classified and villain Dr. Octavius Brine promoting Penguins of Madagascar. Knowing of Cumberbatch’s accomplished acting career, makes me want to go see this animated film to simply hear his voice in something light-hearted for a change!

Bates Motel Freddie Highmore

A&E will continue their bone-chilling Comic-Con tradition with Bates Motel stars Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). Bates Motel partnered with Playboy to host an invitation-only party at this year’s Con. And I scored an invite, too! What will I wear?

Folks, keep in mind these are just some of the highlights I’m looking forward to at this years Con. Please check back to read my Hollyblogs about what is sure to be another formidable event for San Diego’s most exciting convention of the year!
