For five days, September 24-28, San Diego went a little bit Hollywood hosting A-list celebrities and top-notch films at the San Diego Film Festival.
One of the signature events of this year’s festival was “Variety’s Night of the Starts: A Tribute” which took place on September 25 at the magnificent Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, CA. The inaugural Gregory Peck Award, established in collaboration with the actor’s daughter, Cecelia Peck, was presented to actor Alan “Argo f@^# yourself!” Arkin at the awards ceremony.
Actors Michelle Monaghan, Allison Pill, Beau Bridges and Saginaw Grant were also be honored at the event.
“Inglorious Bastards” star, Eli Roth (Bear Jew if you saw the film), was also at the festival to promote his next film venture starring Keanu Reeves, “Knock, Knock.”
Tom Berenger attended the San Diego Film Festival to support his film “Bad Country” and the late director Chris Brinker.
The always entertaining father-son duo, Jeffrey and Ben Lyons, acted as hosts of the festival and shared their love and enthusiasm for film.
A summary of the events at this year’s San Diego Film Festival appeared in my post on The Wrap earlier this month.
